Located at the back of the arcade opposite Blackwattle Deli, Nicholas Seafood has got something for everyone. Like many of our fishmongers, they offer both a wide variety of wet fish, as well as a sashimi bar, live tanks, and a hot food section.
Nicholas are perhaps best known for their live products: if you're keen to take a peek at an enormous Rock Lobster, Abalone, or King Crab, this is the place to visit.
You can even get live seafood cooked to order here. Just choose your crustacean, whole fish, bivalve or mollusc, choose your cooking style, choose your sauce, and you're in business! Some of our visitors' favourites are Singapore Chilli Mud Crab, Pipis in XO sauce, and steamed whole Coral Trout with Chilli and Ginger. Make sure you've got the family with you for this one, as the portion sizes are not to be sniffed at.
Feel like something lighter? Pop by their sashimi bar, where you can have your choice of fresh sashimi sliced exactly to your liking. Or, just choose one of their delicious pre-made bentos, for a little bit of everything.
Now here's a trade secret: if you're not in a seafoodie mood, the chefs in Nicholas Seafood's kitchens can whip you up any number of delicious stir-fry, noodle and rice dishes. Anything from Hokkien Noodles to Special Fried Rice to Black Pepper Beef can be whipped up for you, fresh to order, for less than $12. Again, come hungry: the portion sizes are solid!
